Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NannyAi ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our web app, SMS features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1) Information We Collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you use NannyAi, you may provide:
- Account details (name, email address, password)
- Household details (family name, member names, optional phone numbers, optional birthdays)
- Calendar, task, meal, and notes content you create
- Messages you send to NannyAi through chat or SMS
- Support or contact requests
Information from integrations
If you connect supported third-party services (for example Google services), we collect data from those services based on the permissions you approve.
Technical information
We may automatically collect:
- Log data (IP address, browser type, device data, timestamps, request details)
- Basic usage and diagnostic data
- Cookies or similar technologies required for authentication, security, and product functionality
2) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Power AI-assisted features such as chat, scheduling, and reminders (see Section 3)
- Authenticate users and secure accounts
- Deliver household features (scheduling, reminders, meals, tasks, display mode, SMS workflows)
- Improve reliability, performance, and safety
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
- Track usage metrics on a per-household basis for cost calculation and billing (see Section 2.1)
We do not sell your personal information.
2.1) Usage Tracking and Metrics
To support billing and service planning, we track aggregate usage metrics for each household, such as:
- Number of requests and API calls made to the Service
- Features actively used
- Message and task processing volume
- Service availability and performance indicators
Content Not Tracked for Billing or Metrics: We explicitly do NOT collect or expose the following in usage metrics, billing reports, or analytics:
- The actual content of messages sent to NannyAi through chat or SMS
- Details of calendar events, appointments, or schedules you create
- Task or reminder specifics
- Meal plans, recipes, or food preferences
- Family member names, ages, or household composition
- Any other personal household information
This means you can track how much the Service is being used by your family without exposing what your family is actually using it for. Usage metrics are limited to quantitative, non-content-bearing measures.
3) AI Features Powered by Anthropic
NannyAi's intelligent features — including chat assistance, scheduling suggestions, understanding of messages and email, meal and recipe generation, and SMS replies — are powered by Claude, a family of AI models built by Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"). We chose Anthropic deliberately because of its strong, privacy-protective approach to handling the data we send on your behalf.
To deliver these features, we send only the content needed to fulfill your request — such as the text of your message, relevant household details, and the task you are asking for — to Anthropic's commercial API so that Claude can generate a response. Anthropic processes this information as our service provider and sub-processor under a Data Processing Addendum, and provides the following protections:
- Not used to train AI models. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, the inputs we send and the outputs Claude generates for us are not used to train Anthropic's models.
- Limited retention. Anthropic automatically deletes commercial API inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days, except where longer retention is required to comply with law or to address misuse.
- Not sold or shared. Anthropic does not sell or share this information and uses it only to provide the AI service to us.
- Independently certified. Anthropic maintains recognized security and AI-governance standards, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO/IEC 42001 (an AI management systems standard).
- Built for safety. As an AI safety company, Anthropic enforces usage policies that prohibit harmful activity, including the exploitation of minors.
Where AI features process data from connected services such as Google, that data is used only to deliver the feature you requested and follows the Limited Use commitments in Section 4. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. Our AI features are designed to assist you, not to make legally or similarly significant decisions about you on their own, and a person stays in control: you remain responsible for reviewing and confirming household actions, events, reminders, and decisions. You can choose not to use AI-driven features and still use the core Service.
4) Google User Data and Limited Use
If you connect Google services (for example, Google Calendar), we access only the Google user data covered by the permissions you grant, and we use it solely to provide and improve features that are visible to you within NannyAi.
NannyAi's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular:
- Limited use. We use Google user data only to provide or improve user-facing features that are directly visible to you within NannyAi, not for any other purpose.
- No advertising or resale. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to data brokers.
- No human access. We do not allow humans to read your Google user data, except with your explicit affirmative consent for a specific message, for security or abuse investigations, to comply with law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
- No AI model training. We do not use, retain, or transfer Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized or foundational AI or machine learning models. When AI features process your Google user data, they do so only to deliver the specific feature you requested, and our AI provider does not train its models on this data (see Section 3).
- Not used for analytics or billing metrics. Google user data is not included in usage metrics, billing calculations, or operational analytics as described in Sections 2.1 and 7. Those systems track aggregate, non-content request counts only and are explicitly excluded from processing Google user data.
- Limited third-party sharing. Google user data is shared with third parties only as strictly necessary to provide the feature you requested — specifically with Anthropic to power AI features (see Section 3) and with Google's own services to fulfill your request. It is not shared with analytics providers, support tooling, or other service providers described in Section 7.
We retain Google user data only as long as needed to provide these features. You can disconnect Google services at any time, which stops further access, and you can request deletion of stored Google user data using our contact page.
5) Login with Amazon and Alexa Integration
NannyAi offers an optional integration with Amazon Alexa that lets us send reminders to your Alexa-enabled devices on your behalf. To enable this feature, you authorize NannyAi through Login with Amazon — Amazon's OAuth service — which grants us a limited permission token scoped to alexa::alerts:reminders:skill:readwrite.
What we receive from Amazon: When you connect your Amazon account, Amazon provides us with OAuth access and refresh tokens. We do not receive your Amazon account credentials, payment information, purchase history, or any other Amazon account data. The tokens are scoped solely to creating and managing Alexa reminders.
How we use it: We use these tokens exclusively to create and manage Alexa reminder alerts on your behalf, as directed by NannyAi features you use (such as scheduling a reminder through chat or the NannyAi interface). We do not use the tokens for any other purpose.
Storage and security: Your Amazon OAuth tokens are stored securely in our database alongside your account. They are treated with the same security safeguards described in Section 9.
How to disconnect: You can disconnect your Amazon account at any time from the NannyAi Settings page. Disconnecting immediately revokes NannyAi's ability to send Alexa reminders and removes your tokens from our systems. You can also revoke NannyAi's access directly through your Amazon account security settings.
Amazon's privacy practices: This feature is subject to Amazon's own Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review Amazon's privacy practices and the Login with Amazon terms.
6) SMS-Specific Data Use
When SMS features are enabled, we process phone numbers and message content to:
- Identify household members by phone number
- Deliver replies, confirmations, reminders, and verification links
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized use
Message content you send by SMS may be processed by Anthropic to generate a reply, as described in Section 3. Message and data rates may apply through your carrier.
7) How We Share Information
We may share information:
- With Anthropic, PBC, the provider of the Claude AI models that power our intelligent features, as described in Section 3
- With service providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, communications, analytics, support tooling)
- With third-party integrations you enable, as required to provide those features
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (subject to standard confidentiality protections)
Our service providers, including Anthropic, are bound by contract to use the information only to provide services to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share personal information with data brokers for resale.
8) Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention may vary by data type. Some household content is user-managed and can be updated or removed by account holders through product features. Information sent to Anthropic to power AI features is automatically deleted from Anthropic's systems within 30 days, as described in Section 3.
9) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, and we work with providers, such as Anthropic, that maintain independently certified security programs. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10) Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of information, subject to legal and operational limits
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Opt out of optional AI-driven features
To make a request, use our contact page.
11) Children's Privacy
NannyAi is intended for use by adults — parents, guardians, and caregivers — managing household logistics. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or submit information to us directly.
Account-holding adults may choose to enter information about their own children (such as a child's name, schedule, or meal preferences) to use household features. By providing that information, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorized to provide it, and you consent to its use to operate the Service, including processing by Anthropic to power AI features as described in Section 3. Anthropic's usage policies prohibit the exploitation of minors.
Account holders can review, update, and delete information about their household, including children, through product features or by using our contact page. If you believe a child submitted information directly to us without appropriate consent, contact us and we will investigate.
12) International Data Transfers
If you access the Service outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. This includes processing by Anthropic in the United States to power AI features. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Anthropic's Data Processing Addendum incorporating Standard Contractual Clauses.
13) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and revise the effective date above.
14) Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please use our contact page.
